Enhanced Process Control Software

Sept. 1, 2008
The latest version of  RSLogix 5000 engineering software includes three new advanced process control (APC) function blocks.
Native to the Allen-Bradley Logix family of controllers, the function blocks are designed to offer process users sophisticated APC technology that is simpler to implement. In addition, the vendor has introduced a new redundancy module and improvements in system availability. The new APC blocks provide compensation for long, dead-time processes and allow simpler multivariable control with automatic tuning built in. Control strategy implementation with the new blocks is designed to be straightforward and configuration is done within the RSLogix 5000 engineering software. Allen-Bradley ControlLogix redundancy configuration is a core offering of the vendor’s process automation system. The new redundancy module (RM) improves configuration by improving the throughput capacity and switchover time. Supporting multiple controllers in one chassis, the new redundancy configuration expands the processing capacity to accommodate larger and more complex control projects. User-defined instructions are also supported in the redundancy configuration.Rockwell Automation Inc.www.rockwellautomation.com800.223.5354, Ext. 2099
