Touch Screen PLC Programming

June 6, 2008
A relationship with touch-screen maker HMI Products LLC, marketers of Beijer’s H-Series touch screens, has led to the development of a touch screen with I/O solution that enables programming of a modified version of the vendor’s Smart-Pak series of ePLCs, known as Smart Modules, using H-Designer software.
Two methods of programming are available—macro script or ladder logic. All processing of code is done through the touch screen. Seven standard I/O configurations are available: SM-66-24 (6 DC in/6 DC  out, 24 VDC power); SM-86-24 (8 DC in/6 DC  out, 24 VDC power); SM-1212-24 (12 DC in/12  DC out, 24 VDC power); SM-1612-24 (16 DC in/12  DC out, 24 VDC power); SM-86-24-1AIO (8 DC in/6  DC out, 1 analog in/1 analog out 24 VDC power); SM-86-24-2AIO (8 DC in/6  DC out, 2 analog in/2 analog out 24 VDC power); SM-1612-24-2AIO (16 DC in/12 DC out, 2 analog in/2 analog out 24 VDC power). A custom configuration with 8 DC inputs/6 relay outputs (maximum) and up to 8 analog  inputs/4 analog outputs is also available. Pricing starts at $395 for an H-T40 touch screen and an SM-66-24.Entertron Industrieswww.entertron.com716.772.7216
