Life Sciences MES Gains Connectivity

Dec. 11, 2007
The vendor has added new connector capabilities to its RS PMX MES software to help life sciences companies more easily exchange data between enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other plant-floor applications.

The enhanced functionality helps provide connectivity between RS PMX MES and the vendor’s FactoryTalk Integrator, enabling manufacturers to transmit data to or from multiple plant or business applications such as ERP, document management systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Previously, connectivity between RS PMX MES software and other plant systems required point-to-point configuration schemes that required more integration effort. With connectivity to FactoryTalk Integrator, manufacturers can help to integrate their plant-floor applications with higher-level business systems for more responsive and informed decision making. FactoryTalk Integrator helps feed common types of information required by an MES system, such as work orders, schedules or recipes, directly from ERP systems.
