High-performance Servo Series

Nov. 12, 2007
Fifth generation ∑-V servo motors and amplifiers are billed as “a massive leap forward in technology.” The most impressive feature of the ∑-V series is its improved positioning accuracy by one thousand times the industry standard, says the vendor.

In addition, the autotuning function has been optimized for the most sophisticated applications, such as two axes in super-high performance machines. The new autotuning algorithm allows for perfect set-up in less than two hours, the vendor says, compared to more than eight hours needed by other products. A new version of SigmaWin+ software allows for both fast and easy selection of the servo motor and easy set-up of the servo amplifier. The user-friendly intuitive set-up software guides the user through the set-up steps. No expert knowledge is necessary to achieve optimum setting results. By offering precise positioning at high speed with smooth, vibration-free operation and easy start-up, the ∑-V provides benefits for machine builders including short cycle time and high throughput, better product quality, less machine wear and short initial set-up time.
