Flexible Machine-tending Robot

Sept. 9, 2007
Billed as industry’s most versatile machine-tending robot, the IRB 6620 combines compactness, flexibility and agility with collision resistance and low maintenance cost.
The IRB 6620 can handle payloads up to 150kg with a reach of 2.2m, and can be mounted in four positions—floor, titled, inverted or shelf. With the IRB 6620, a space once housing four robots now has room for eight, says the vendor, significantly reducing line length. Weighing just 900kg, the IRB 6620’s light weight provides advantages in machine tending applications where the robot can be placed atop a machine. It can also work bending backwards and has a large downward work area.ABB Roboticswww.abb.com248.391.9000
