Fast Packaging Robot

May 9, 2007
The Quattro s650 robot is billed as the world’s fastest light payload packaging and handling robot targeted at the food, consumer goods, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
The Quattro s650 robot uses a patented 4-link parallel drive and carbon fiber construction to provide packaging cycle times that are twice as fast as conventional packaging robots, says the vendor, at up to 240 pick-and-place cycles per minute. The Quattro s650 robot integrates the controls inside the robot, which saves factory floor space and simplifies installation. The vendor’s SmartController platform provides integrated vision and conveyor tracking for up to six conveyors, making the Quattro well-suited for high-speed applications in which products are randomly located on moving conveyor belts. The Adept Quattro features a 1300mm work envelope and 250mm Z-stroke.Adept Technology Inc.www.adept.com925.245.3546
