Compact OEM Surge Protection

April 1, 2006
TheValvetrab CompactDIN-rail-mountable surge protection device measures just 12mm per channel, which is billed as the smallest footprint in the industry.

Symmetrical plugs and bases provide high flexibility, whether the power wires come from the top or the bottom. Designed primarily for the OEM marketplace, the Valvetrab Compact can fit into small space requirements common with industrial power cabinets. The unit is designed to meet technical, installation and certification standards for worldwide acceptance, allowing one surge protection solution for use in global installations. Different versions address 1-, 2- and 3-phase power systems. Local and remote indication provides diagnostics for the status of protection plugs. The pluggable surge components can easily be removed prior to “hi-pot” testing so that there is no mistaken interference with results. 40kA (8/20) surge current handling capacity, fast response and low pro-tection level ensure that the installation is protected from switching transients as well as lightning events.
