ControlLogix-to-LonWorks Connectivity

March 1, 2006
SlotServer is an interface module that allows users to interface third-party devices using LonWorks to the Allen Bradley ControlLogix 1757 platform.

LonWorks is a widely used protocol in building automation and process control industries for many security controls, energy monitors, HVAC controls, I/O controls, lighting controls, motor controls and sensors, while ControlLogix PLCs are used for sequential process, drive and motion control applications. SlotServer is designed to provide key features demanded by integrators desiring an interface between their PLC and LonWorks, including: standard 1756 format plugs directly into the ControlLogix rack; LonWorks TP/FT-10 interface for direct connection to LonWorks networks; generic profile in the LonWorks environment, allowing for compatibility with many types of LonWorks devices; and a user-friendly text display, status LEDs and LonWorks Service Pin.
