The EDG-6528 is an industrial-grade Ethernet switch designed to provide fast and cost-effective expansion of Ethernet networks with eight 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports.
With an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, the EDG-6528 boasts support for a wide, 12VDC to 48VDC voltage range, and also features 3,000VDC surge protection. Power inputs are designed with flexible screw terminals to ensure that power lines are solidly fixed and won’t be accidentally pulled out. There is also a secondary power input that will automatically take over if the primary input fails. For more reliable communication, the EDG-6528 is designed with a switch controller that can automatically sense transmission speeds (10/100 Mbps), and all Ethernet ports have memory buffers that support the “store-and-forward” mechanism. EDG models are designed for easy mounting on DIN rails or on panels.
George Reed, with the help of Factory Technologies, was looking to further automate the processes at its quarries and make Ignition an organization-wide standard.
Goodnight Midstream chose Ignition because it could fulfill several requirements: data mining and business intelligence work on the system backend; powerful Linux-based edge deployments...
