Software Promotes Interoperability, Security

Feb. 1, 2005
The latest release of the vendor’s automation control and information products software includes support for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

The release also includes upgrades and enhancements to a wide range of the vendors products for human-machine interface, information integration and maintenance applications, including RSView, Enterprise Series, RSLogix 5/500, RSBizWare and RSMACC. All use the FactoryTalk platform to allow connectivity that enables real-time sharing of production data across the plant floor and throughout the enterprise. The release is part of the vendor’s coordinated product release program designed to maintain tight integration among the vendor’s products, facilitating greater plant-wide interoperability and minimizing implementation times. Besides supporting the widely used Windows Server 2003 operating system, the support for SP2 allows manufacturers to take full advantage of security upgrades to the operating system.
