Predictive Alerts

Sept. 1, 2004
The PlantWeb digital plant architecture has been extended to provide alerts that predict operations issues with critical mechanical and process equipment, enabling manufacturers to better prevent abnormal situations.

The vendor began offering PlantWeb Alerts for field instruments and valves in 2002. The new alert capability enables the delivery of real-time alerts regarding the health and performance of mechanical and process equipment such as motors, pumps, heat exchangers and boilers. Alerts are generated by vibration, infrared thermography, oil analysis, thermodynamic models and other diagnostic techniques. The alert information can be displayed on AMS Suite Asset Portal, and can also be delivered to the DeltaV digital automation system, enabling operators and maintenance personnel to work together to avoid unscheduled downtime or process upsets.
