Comprised of 16-channel modular logic solvers, the DeltaV SIS system can be deployed in distributed fashion to perform programmable electronic system functions for virtually any safety need. DeltaV SIS digitally integrates with intelligent safety-certified sensors and final control elements to build the vendor’s SIS system that is rated for SIL 1-3 safety applications, in compliance with IEC 61508 for safety functionality. The SIS system has been designed to integrate all the tools to fulfill the customer design requirements of IEC 61511. To help simplify compliance with IEC 61511 the SIS system delivers version control and audit trail with the DeltaV SIS system software and AMS Intelligent Device Manager. Changes to the safety system are recorded, including date, time, author or respective alarm level. Plant Messenger directs the events with corrective actions to the relevant department per e-mail, text message SMS or pager. Plantwide Event Historian automatically documents all the events.
