Fast, Rugged Vision Sensors

As the latest additions to the vendor’s family of In-Sight vision sensors, the In-Sight 5100 and In-Sight 5400 models provide four times the processing power of comparably priced vision sensors, says the vendor, along with a rugged industrial design.

Both models meet IEC specifications for shock and vibration, and achieve an IP67 (NEMA 6) rating for dust and wash-down protection for deployment anywhere on the factory floor. “These new products deliver levels of ruggedness and performance never before seen in a vision sensor,” contends Jim Hoffmaster, chief operating officer at the vendor. The “high performance” In-Sight 5100 and “very high performance” In-Sight 5400 both acquire up to 60 full frames per second. When a full image is not required, higher speeds are possible using partial acquisition. As with other In-Sight vision sensors, both new models include a library of vision tools for image processing and analysis, as well as a vision spreadsheet and In-Sight Explorer software designed to make application development and network administration fast and simple.
