The eXcelerated Critical Control Module (CCMX) is an enhanced version of the vendor’s Quadlog Safety PLC’s Critical Control Module (CCM+).
The CCMX features expanded memory capacity and is capable of scanning program logic two to four times faster than the CCM+ controller. In addition to providing more time for communication with other devices in the system, such as the operator interface, the faster scan rates also minimize the time required to detect unsafe process conditions, and to react to bring the process to a safe state. The CCMX is certified for classes AK1-AK6 by Germany’s TÜV organization, which rates equipment for requirement class levels (AKs) to specify the amount of safety risk reduction required for a particular application. It is also certified by Factory Mutual (FM) and the Canadian Standards Association for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous areas. The CCMX is suitable for use in SIL 2 and SIL 3 applications. The Quadlog Safety PLC is a programmable electronic system for use in potentially dangerous applications such as burner management, emergency shutdown and fire and gas detection.
