The EDG-4508+/4516+ industrial network-based serial device servers connect eight to 16 RS-232/422/485 devices, such as CNCs, PLCs, weigh scales and scanners, directly to an Ethernet or Internet TCP/IP network.

Featuring dual CPUs, the EDG-4508+/4516+ include features for both local and remote configuration though an easy-to-use utility, V.24 console or a Web page. The unit offers four built-in digital input and output channels and supports redundant power mechanisms, for future installation expansions, and10/100Mbps Ethernet connections, for higher bandwidth, lower traffic impact and networking layout flexibility. Intended applications include industrial and factory automation, SCADA systems, telecommunications, automatic warehouse control and building automation.
