The ESD5020 Enabling Switch Device provides the margin of safety needed during troubleshooting, set-up, programming or servicing of robotic or automated machinery when no other safety devices are possible or practical, says the vendor, as required by ANSI/RIA R15.06.
The ESD5020 is available with a variety of holder kits. Two three-position enabling switches are integrated into the trigger to provide the operator with constant control. The trigger’s middle “enabled” position is easy to feel, and redundant switch contacts ensure that the machinery can be stopped by releasing or squeezing the trigger. Optional switch buttons and LED indicators can be added for activating user-defined functions and providing visual status indication.
