More Vision Features

Nov. 1, 2003
Several new and improved features are supported in Sherlock 6.3, the latest version of the vendor’s Windows-based point-and-click software designed to simplify machine vision application development and deployment.

Compared to earlier versions, Sherlock 6.3 supports decoding of additional variants of the RSS14 symbology, which is designed to allow more information to be coded into a smaller space. Sherlock’s SmartBar algorithm can now decode RSS14 Stacked Omnidirectional, RSS14 Truncated, RSS14 Limited and RSS14Composite Component A. New optional features for Sherlock 6.3 include OCRplus, which provides a robust platform for optical character recognition in environments that include poor contrast and significant background noise.
