From Brick to Block

Nov. 1, 2003
The ITXblock industrial computer builds upon its cousin, the ITXbrick, by offering expandable PCI card access in a small, 9.1-by-3.4-by-8.8 inch rugged package.

The ITXblock features a 533 MHz VIA Eden fanless processor, a 10/100 Ethernet port, 1 serial and 1 parallel port, 4 USB (2.0) ports and 2 open PCI slots. Options include a faster CPU and SD RAM upgradeable to 1 GB. The system offers multiple solutions for the industrial networked environment: providing simple browser access to a Web server; acting as a client in a thin-client environment; offering the latest embedded operation system with solid state storage; or acting as a full industrial PC with non-embedded operating system and 2.5-inch hard drive. Pricing starts at $645.
