The latest version of Workbench, a centralized project development environment for control engineering, includes a fully integrated Universal OLE for Process Control (OPC) server, which provides a standard connection into popular human-machine interface packages.The server is automatically configured by Workbench Release 7.3.1, providing faster connect times to controllers for improved throughput.

Once selected from the Workbench pulldown menus, the server automatically starts when the user chooses to download a control strategy or view a strategy in real time. The auto-configuration means there are no extra steps needed to configure and load.
