Distributed Modular I/O for Industrial Ethernet

Dec. 16, 2011
Because it provides IP67 protection and industry-standard M12 connectors, this new generation of distributed modular I/O can be used to replace standard slice I/O and distributed I/O solutions.

Using standard three-conductor cables, up to four slave devices can be connected to each master block. Slave devices can be distributed across a machine within a 20 meter radius from the master device. Using IO-Link, makes the system fieldbus independent, easily configured and vendor neutral, according to the company. Industrial Ethernet master blocks are available with EtherNet/IP or Profinet protocols.
