Machine Safety: 3-Position Enabling Switch

Jan. 4, 2011
With experienced personnel leaving the factory floor, machine safety technology is more important that ever. The new HE6B offers automatic shut down when a switch is continuously held down.
When operators are setting, teaching, in changeovers, repairing or cleaning, the 3-position enabling switch allows personnel to shut down machines when "over" pressed or "squeezed" in position 3. The hand-held switch's 1st position is set to no power and position 2 powers a machine with a light grip, while the 3rd position will power down the machine when gripped tightly. The device meets the IEC standard 60947-5-8 and a waterproof rubber boot provides IP65 protection. Applications include industrial robot and semiconductor machine environments.IDEC Corp. www.idec.com/usa
