Schneider Electric releases the latest version of its Vijeo Citect V7.20
SCADA software that offers better performance due to improvements in
operating systems technology and native integration of real-time video.
With surveillance and remote monitoring offering operational savings to plants, the updated software provides the ability to watch critical processes, equipment and production materials through a live video feed via Pelco cameras. The surveillance feature allows operators to view video directly on SCADA screens, control the camera movement and link to control system events, such as alarms in secured areas. The software also diminishes the need to interrupt or restart the system when alarm and trend changes need to be made, allowing for progressive modifications. Server-side online changes make it possible to add, change or remove elements form alarm, trend and report servers without reloading. The update also includes the support for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. The added security enhancements, such as server authentication, introduce an extra layer of protection for networked control systems.
