New Gigabit Model for Ethernet Switch Series

Oct. 14, 2010
N-TRON announces an additional gigabit model, 7012FX2, for its recent release of fully-managed Industrial Ethernet switch series.
The new model offers eight copper ports, two fiber ports and two gigabit ports (SFP transceivers optional). Employing IEEE 802.3 fast Ethernet 10/100BaseTX switching technology, the new device can optimize the flow of data to enhance network efficiency and can accommodate up to 8,000 MAC addresses. The device utilizes the company's N-Ring technology that provides large capacity, detailed fault diagnostics and ~30ms healing time via the company's ring technology. The integrity of the ring is continually checked by sending heartbeat packets around the network and, if an error is detected, the ring converts to a linear topology within ~30ms and communication is immediately restored. Fault location and the ring map can be accessed by a web browser or an OPC server. Each ring can accommodate up to 250 managed switches. The new model is housed in compact, metal enclosure.
