New Interfaces for Existing Industrial Networks

July 6, 2010
National Instruments rolls out three new interface modules for PROFIBUS, FOUNDATION Fieldbus and DeviceNet.

The NI Compact RIO PROFIBUS C Series modules can now provide a connection to a PROFIBUS industrial network and add measurements, advanced analysis and custom field-programmable gate array (FPGA) logic to existing systems. With these modules, engineers can upgrade and retrofit existing machines and systems to perform high-speed and custom tasks that a traditional PLC is not designed to solve.

The NI USB-8486 is a one-port FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 interface that provides data logging, configuration and control in HMI and DCS applications. And the new NI PCI-8532 and NI PXI-8332 work with applications that manage and control other DeviceNet devices on a network using LabVIEW graphical programming.
