Nov. 18, 2010
Advantech, an international leader in embedded and automation technologies, hosted its "iService Solution Forum" on October 28th, 2010.

About 250 guests joined the event put together to demonstrate several of Advantech's important milestones in the life automation iService business. Advantech invited several experts from the Intelligent Services sector to share successful cases and demonstrate the latest application trends

The "Advantech Intelligent City" was the main theme of this forum. Different solutions booths were set up to show iService achievements, including signage applications in retail, digital hospital and business solutions, intelligent homes, and video surveillance.

In the retail scenario, digital signage was used to display instant news. Using a central system control, content was designed to increase consumer awareness and purchasing. The digital hospital booth demonstrated revolutionary healthcare solutions. From the doctor, to the remote operating room, to every single ward, the system was integrated to help care givers collect data, perform analysis and help in decision making. Patients, visitors, and staff used interactive guides to get instant information from digital signage systems throughout the hospital. The entire system was interconnected, delivering consistent information and increasing service efficiency.

In addition, the Advantech UTC-500 series (Ubiquitous Touch Computer System) was introduced at the forum. Product Manager Jackel Sheng said, "The UTC-500 series delivers a cost-effective total solution package that is high in quality. It transforms digital displays from passive signage devices to interactive self-service terminals, designed with an intuitive, human interface for a variety of markets."

Advantech is committed in its efforts to enable an intelligent planet and is dedicated in helping people achieve a smarter lifestyle made possible by interactive information and instant communication, intelligent platforms and the integration of technology across complementary industries.
