Schneider Electric (www.schneider-electric.com.br), global specialist in energy management, has acquired SoftBrasil (www.softbrasil.com.br), a Brazilian company that provides technology for industrial information management, process optimization, telemonitoring and industrial automation.
“With the acquisition of SoftBrasil, Schneider Electric reaffirms its strategy of becoming an expert in process automation solutions for industry and infrastructure, and energy management. This acquisition will certainly further strengthen our operations in Brazil and throughout South America,” said Tânia Cosentino, Schneider Electric Brazil president.
The acquisition expands Schneider Electric’s portfolio with solutions for Manufacturing Operations Management, Process Optimization (Alarms and Control Loops Management and Condition-Based Maintenance) and Industrial Automation, with primary focus in mining and metallurgy, food and beverage, water treatment, oil and gas, and petrochemical industries, among other markets. In addition, the company will expand its expertise in implementing projects that aim to improve the operational efficiency of its customers, becoming a Center of Competence in South America
Founded 14 years ago, SoftBrasil is located in São Paulo, and has specialized employees that develop custom solutions for its customers. According to Rogerio Zampronha, SoftBrasil president, “Providing differentiated solutions for our customers, always striving to increase the operational efficiency of their plants and processes, is the successful SoftBrasil strategy, which can now serve the entire Brazilian market with increasingly efficient solutions, coupled with the strength and competence of a global company such as Schneider Electric.”
