The Singapore-based chapter will be the first outside North America for the wireless networking organization.
The Wireless Industrial Networking Alliance (WINA, www.wina.org), says that it plans to found its first chapter outside North America. The chapter, to be based in Singapore, will serve the Asia Pacific region. “Extending our presence into the Asia Pacific region will help to further our mission of helping industry understand and accept wireless technology. This region is a source of many wireless technologies, and is leading the world in industrial growth. WINA’s increased presence in this part of the world will benefit all concerned with industrial wireless technology,” said WINA president Hesh Kagan. The WINA Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Sachin Gupta, a Singapore-based senior wireless consultant for Invensys Process Systems, to lead the formation of the new chapter.
