Dec. 27, 2004
Industry leaders will share best practices for optimizing manufacturing operations at ARC Advisory Group’s Ninth Annual Forum.

“Performance Driven Manufacturing: Best Practices for Optimizing Your Human and Physical Resources,” is the theme for ARC Advisory Group’s Ninth Annual Forum, to be held Jan. 31-Feb. 3 in Orlando, Fla.

The Forum will include presentations by industry executives from numerous well-known user and supplier companies, including Boeing, Dow Chemical, DuPont, ExxonMobil, Hershey Foods, International Paper, Nestle Purina Petcare, Pfizer, Rohm and Haas, 3M, Toyota, Rolls Royce, Unilever and UPS, among others.

“Adopting best practices in all business and manufacturing operations is vital to maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage, says Andy Chatha, ARC president and founder. “This Forum provides an exceptional opportunity to learn from the experiences of your peers as well as network with a unique blend of manufacturers, suppliers and industry organizations.”

The agenda will cover a broad range of topics critical to optimizing manufacturing operations, including two often overlooked topics: how to transform your people into knowledge workers, and how to optimize your capital equipment. Forum topics include:

• Best practices for empowering your people

• Best practices for optimizing your physical assets

• Best practices for collaboration between IT and operations organizations

• Best practices for achieving interoperability across the enterprise

• Architecture for the plant and factory of the future

• Emerging technologies for driving performance.

As part of the event, an Industry Standards Summit will include joint working group sessions hosted by the Open Modular Architecture Controls (OMAC) Users Group, the OPC Foundation, ISA99 CyberSecurity, ISA88 and World Batch Forum, ISA95 Interoperability and the Microsoft Manufacturing Users Group.

Additional information on the Forum can be found on Dedham, Mass.-based ARC’s Web site, at www.arcweb.com.
