In addition to transforming the base servo drive package into a high performance motion control system, the SAC option card provides simple machine control functionality, eliminating the need for simple PLCs, says the vendor. It provides MC BASIC (true BASIC language with motion command set), full math capability for expanded motion control functionality and multi-tasking language for enhanced machine control. With its control capabilities, and support for CANopen, the SAC-equipped S300 or S600 can be part of a distributed control system or perform the total control for a single-axis machine.
