Matrox: Embedded Industrial Computer for Image Capture

The 4Sight GP is a high-performance embedded system for image capture, processing, display and I/O.
May 21, 2012

The unit features a third-generation Intel Core processor, Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 interfaces, and PCIe 3.0 expansion. It offers desktop-level performance-including real-time high-definition H.264 encoding offload-in a small ruggedized enclosure and is suited for demanding machine vision and medical imaging environments. The platform accommodates full-height and half-length PCIe boards, which lets developers insert standard add-in cards-like frame grabbers-for analog, Camera Link, CoaXPress, DVI, or SDI video capture. Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 interfaces provide native support for capturing from GigE Vision cameras and upcoming USB3 Vision cameras. The unit comes pre-loaded with Windows Embedded Standard 7, which provides the same power, familiarity, and reliability as Windows 7. Applications are created using standard Microsoft development tools and the company's imaging library, a collection of tools for developing machine vision and medical imaging applications, including programming functions for image capture, processing, analysis, annotation, display and archiving.
