Advantech Corporation: Wireless I/O Modules

The ADAM-2000Z series use the IEEE 802.15.4 standard I/O and support 2.4 GHz mesh networking to build a cost-effective distributed monitoring system.
July 3, 2012

The series includes five modules: a Modbus/RTU gateway, router node, I/O, and sensor devices. Features include low power consumption, ensured data integrity, Modbus/RTU protocol support (so that it can be connected to other Modbus modules without any additional software or cost), a high degree of accuracy of 16 bits for the analog input module, and a wireless site survey tool in the ADAM Utility. The modules can connect up to 32 nodes, including router and end devices. Regarding the lower power consumption, the modules have an internal compartment for 2 x AA alkaline batteries that will keep the devices updated at 1-minute intervals for a year. Control of the modules can be easily integrated into most HMI and SCADA devices using the Modbus/RTU protocol.
