It creates situational awareness and broadens visibility into the risks that come with system startups, shutdowns and other critical process transitions. It is built on the ArchestrA system platform and Wonderware InTouch HMI software adapted for safety applications. Invensys embeds OPC UA communications with Triconex Trident and Triconex general purpose safety instrumented systems to increase interoperability between systems and connect through the open-platform architecture. The communications interface module contains an embedded OPC UA server that supports up to 10 concurrent clients for communication of real-time data, alarms and historical events. OPC UA provides single communication from the device level to the enterprise level to maintain platform independence. It provides interoperability, access via firewalls and across the Internet, as well as configuration with built-in information and security models.
