Beckhoff: Multi-touch Panel PCs with Multi-core Power

Aug. 14, 2015
The CP32xx Panel PC series allows industrial multi-touch display technology to be used in an all-in-one, high-performance automation device for HMI and control applications.

Designed for mounting arm installation, the units feature all-around IP 65 protection and multi-touch control panel technology with a high-performance Industrial PC (IPC) in one rugged, yet compact housing. The area at the rear, which is required for swiveling and tilting the connected mounting arm, is also used to accommodate the added IPC components while saving space. The components are thermally decoupled from each other; to save space, the computer is built around the integrated mounting arm in a U-shaped housing with cooling fins for passive cooling. Internal fans ensure even temperature distribution, allowing use from 0 to 45 °C. For computing power beyond the standard dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel Celeron CPU, the series also offers the option to use Intel Core i series processors of the second, third and fourth generations. Two cores can be leveraged with Intel Core i3 and i5 processors and four cores with the i7 processor. Displays are available in 12 to 24-inch sizes, in both 4:3 and widescreen formats, as well as with landscape and portrait orientation options. Further features include a free Mini-PCI slot for factory-installed cards, 2 GB DDR3-RAM (expandable to 16 GB), hard disk, CFast card or SSD, on-board dual Ethernet adapter with 10/100/1000 Base-T connection, and an on-board SATA RAID-1 controller (Intel Rapid Storage Technology).
