Advantech: Wireless I/O Modules for Internet of Things

Aug. 14, 2015
The WISE-4000 IoT wireless I/O modules gather data from remote or difficult-to-wire locations.

Suitable for a wide range of industries including environmental and machine monitoring as well as smart cities, the modules can be used without the need of a gateway. This means deployment is much easier because a limitless number of I/O modules can be used to gather information from any third party sensor and connect to an existing network. With an integrated HTML5 interface, modules can be configured and accessed from any mobile device using a standard web browser without the need of an access point. The data logger can send time-stamped information to a Dropbox account or a private cloud depending on the configuration. In the event of network failure, the module can buffer the devices data so nothing can be lost. There are three levels of security (WPA2, SSL, and three levels of user login) and an interchangeable antenna for greater flexibility. External DIP switches provide the ability to quickly default to the factory settings. There are four models in the series: a four-channel digital input, four-channel digital output IoT Wireless I/O Module; a four-channel digital input, four-channel relay output IoT Wireless I/O Module; and a six-channel Input/ Output IoT Wireless I/O Module for developers with WebAccess (optional). A four-channel universal input, two-channel digital output IoT Wireless I/O Module is coming soon.
