The AMAX-5000, Advantech’s EtherCAT controller and slice I/O, is designed with a small PAC, modular I/O and a PCIe interface. Combining gateway, motion control, I/O data acquisition, fieldbus capability, machine vision and device networking into one control platform provides a scalable solution. The AMAX-5000 has a form factor with a height of 10cm, and its modular interface design allows for selection of specific I/O and communication modules to perform data acquisition, control and transmission. Additionally, the AMAX-5000 can be integrated with third-party software, allowing industrial equipment manufacturers to develop cross border OT to IT IoT applications.
B&R Automation Backplane Bus
B&R now offers the X2X+ backplane bus as an option, increasing the performance of the X20 modular I/O system by a factor of four. The advantages of this new bus are apparent in applications that involve many I/O modules or high data volume with imperative short cycle times. It is even possible to set up two separate cycle times so that less time-critical data is transported more slowly to generate less network and processor load.
Omron Automation Remote I/O
The NXR IP67 remote I/O series supports IIoT integration through its flexible configuration that combines IO-Link and digital I/O under one part number. Available in two network models, EtherNetIP and EtherCAT, it caters to different needs; EtherNetIP is ideal for data-heavy applications and easy third-party controller integration, while EtherCAT features a unique PC-less maintenance and setup for quicker field replacements. This series is designed to accelerate deployment in industrial settings.
Wago I/O System Field
Wago’s IP67-rated I/O System Field offers flexibility to meet the requirements of decentralized production facilities. There are two housing options to help provide maximum performance and high-level connectivity. The first is fully encapsulated metal housings for harsh environments. The second is non-encapsulated plastic housings with low mass for mobile applications such as robots. Current and voltage levels can be recorded and evaluated, and overload limits and alarms can be set for each channel.
Metz Connect BACnet I/O Module
Metz Connect’s BACnet I/O module, BMT-F-AOP2, offers smarter and more efficient automation for industrial controls. It has galvanic isolation for controlling and switching significantly more loads than previous modules in an energy-efficient manner for decentralized switching tasks. With two analog outputs and a current carrying capacity of 150 mA per channel, up to 15 loads are controlled simultaneously with a current consumption of 10 mA per channel. It can control various sources (e.g., active sensors with DC voltages from 0V to 10V) and switch valves, pumps, lights and actuators.
Siemens Machine-Mount I/O
Simatic ET 200SP adapts to desired protocol communication standards to meet all possible requirements. In addition to its compact design, users benefit from integrated safety functions and can swap modules during running operations thanks to the multi-hot swapping function. Distributed machine-mount I/O streamlines the expansion or installation of machines and can reduce overall cost and commissioning time for new machines or greenfield plants.
Beckhoff EtherCAT Terminal
Beckhoff’s new EL8601-8411 EtherCAT Terminal offers interface flexibility in a compact, 12mm-wide design. With up to 12 signal interfaces and nine signal types in one terminal, the multi-interface is ideal for numerous applications. The EL8601-8411 offers many configurable combinations and creates a compact solution for applications where few complex signals are required. In addition to the digital inputs and outputs, one analog input and one analog output can be configured as a current or voltage signal. The EL8601-8411 can also provide counter/PWM/analog, or encoder/PWM/analog configuration for a range of industrial automation applications.
KEB Safety System
KEB’s Safety System is compliant with safety standards IEC 61508 SIL 3 and DIN EN ISO 13849-1 Ple. The system includes the C6 Safety PLC, Safety I/O modules and programming software. These modules have a double-channel design and can be programmed through Combivis studio 6. The Safety PLC is a failsafe over EtherCAT master that works in conjunction with the machine PLC to execute and monitor safety functions. The Safety PLC can connect with other FSoE slave modules that have Safe Motion functionality. Each FSoE slave device has four safe inputs, two safe outputs and four OSSD outputs. A single FSoE master can control up to 65,535 slave devices.
Pepperl + Fuchs Remote I/O
The LB (Zone 2/Div. 2) and FB (Zone 1) remote I/O systems are the bridge between the analog and digital communications in process automation. They are used to integrate field devices with analog interfaces into the digital communication of the DCS. Based on a modular design, these systems are designed for installation close to sensors in Zone 2/Div. 2 or Zone 1 hazardous areas. The system also transmits diagnostic and configuration data to other systems. This not only enables full access to the process control instrumentation, it also supports ongoing process optimization and preventive maintenance concepts without disturbing or interfering with process control.
Pilz IO-Link Safety
The complete IO-Link Safety system from Pilz comprises a master, field devices and compatible accessories. Safe, standardized point-to-point communication enables safety sensors and actuators to be integrated into any existing fieldbus system, independent of higher-level systems. The communication protocol IO-Link Safety is standardized worldwide in IEC 61139-2 and offers maximum safety up to PL e of EN ISO 13849-1 (or SIL 3 of IEC 61508/62061), which provides greater flexibility due to only one required fieldbus for safety.
