The encoders produce two Sin/Cos signals offset by 90°, from which a quasi-continuous control behavior can be derived. This way even small rotary movements produce continuous rotational speed and position signals. This subdivision of the sinusoidal curve produces a very high resolution that can be interpolated up to 16 bits, so a sine encoder with 1024 signal periods per revolution (11 bis) supplies the high accuracy of about 270 million measuring steps per revolution. In addition, the encoders are resistant to interference and put little requirements on the input circuit because of their low transmission frequencies of about 400 kHz for 2048 signal periods, even at high rotational speeds of up to 12,000 RPM. There is no need for an additional tachometer; the power supply is 5 VDC or 10 - 30 VDC. Encoders are available with SIL2 and SIL3 certification, including available MTTFd values that make calculations according to EN 61800-5-2 und EN ISO 13849-1 easier. The Safety version is completed with tested and safe mechanical connections.
