Balluff, automation supplier and U.S. subsidiary of Balluff GmbH, broke ground in northern Kentucky April for a $6 million expansion expected to bring 24 new jobs to the area.
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear welcomed a full house of Balluff (www.balluff.com) employees, company officers from Germany, local dignitaries and members of the local press at a groundbreaking ceremony in Florence, Ky.
In 2012, Kentucky was ranked number two in net jobs created, said the governor. There are many companies from Europe, and especially Germany, which have brought more than 24,000 permanent jobs to the region, he added.
