Photoelectric Sensors with PointSpot Beam

May 10, 2017
The PD30CN Series from Carlo Gavazzi feature a narrow beam of visible red light that makes detection more accurate and allows detection of smaller objects, compared to standard sensors, but larger than those a laser can detect.

This is safer than laser sensors, with no concerns about eye injury. The beam eliminates the halo light disturbance and increases detection reliability. Units are available with N.O. and N.C. outputs, in NPN or PNP versions. Features include an IP67 rating, CE and cULus approvals, 10.8 x 20 x 30 mm housing with two M3 mounting holes (25.4 mm spacing), and M8-4pin male connector with connection cable. Available versions include background suppression, Active Pixel Sensor (APS) with visible red light, as well as retro-reflective with visible red light with polarization filter. The sensing distance is controlled by means of a potentiometer on the back of the housing and the adjustment is optimized for easy settings. Suggested applications include packaging, palletizers, material handling, plastics and machine tools.
