The new motor series offers twice the maximum permissible torque of 350 in-lb (40 Nm) for many models as motors with similar prices, as well as greater strength, longer life, improved reliability and quieter operation than a conventional AC motor. The motors' strength comes from the use of a rigid case, a proprietary side-panel construction and an optimized gear design. The use of a larger diameter bearing also serves to extend useful life to 10,000 hours. Other features include a built-in overheat protection device and a protective earth terminal, as well as noise-reduction technologies including a special tooth-surface machining technology to remove cutting mark of 1 to 2 µm from the surface of the motor shaft teeth, an optimized quiet-running design that considers the circular speed of the motor while maintaining its strength and a high-accuracy assembly technology that ensures precision at micro levels.
