Mitsubishi Electric Automation: Field Networking Option for Inverter

The CC-Link IE Field option card for the FR-A700 inverter delivers control of remote I/O and simultaneous read/write functionality up to 1 Gbps.
Sept. 13, 2012

The new card integrates FR-A700 inverters into the open-technology CC Link IE Field Industrial Ethernet, and can seamlessly connect more than 120 stations on a single network. This allows the inverter to remotely manage data across PLCs, computers and field devices, such as digital and analog I/O, RFID readers, VFDs and motion controllers. The card eliminates the need for Ethernet switches and their associated hardware and implementation costs. Plus, its ultrahigh speed is at least 10 times faster than most Industrial Ethernet based networks currently available, and its flexible topology can connect as many as 239 CC-Link networks, allowing vast exchanges of data to suit any application.
