Schneider Electric: Ethernet Gateway for Motion Systems

The Ethernet Gateway enables the use of the company's MDrive RS-422/485 serial products over Ethernet networks via EtherNet/IP and ModbusTCP protocols.
Sept. 7, 2012

MDrive over Ethernet delivers advantages to a wide range of industrial motion applications in a compact, low cost package that is ODVA conformance tested and will interface with many manufacturer systems including Rockwell, Omron and Schneider Electric. The products use a Windows-based TCP/IP configuration utility to set parameters and assembly object mapping. Adherence to established protocol standards enables the networking of products from different manufacturers without the need for special interface adaptation. As an adapter class device, the gateway is capable of explicit or implicit messaging. Other features include compact size, a DIN-rail mount, standard TCP/IP stack with virtually unlimited nodes, dynamic mapping of assembly object, ODVA compliance and a graphical user interface for quick and easy configuration.
