For use in harsh environments, water-resistant USB 2.0 connectors feature robust internal components housed in black plastic and nickel-plated zinc die-cast with a bayonet locking termination rated to IEC 61076-3-106 specifications.
The interface meets IP67 requirements when a mating connector is inserted or when covered with a secured protective cap. A USB 2.0 plug set is available for the cable side and there are also preassembled patch cords available in various IP protection designs and lengths. The connector contacts are phosphor bronze and gold-plated with a contact resistance rated at a maximum 30m Ω and insulation resistance of 500m Ω. Current ratings are 1.5A maximum at 25°C, and operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C.
