Eighth-Brick DC-DC Converters

March 1, 2005
The PAE family of high efficiency eighth-brick DC-DC converters are well-suited for systems using distributed power architectures that need to comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.

The PAE50 and PAE100 series are rated up to 20 and 30 amps, respectively, and both series are available with 1.8-, 2.5-, 3.3- and 5-volt outputs. The 3.3-volt and 5-volt models achieve efficiencies of as high as 90 percent. The units are rated for operation from –40°C to +85°C, and can be cooled by either convection or forced air. Features include over-current and over-voltage protection, remote sensing, output adjustment trim and remote on/off capability. Units measure 0.9-by-2.28-by-0.33 inch and share the industry standard eighth-brick pinout. Pricing starts at $38 in 1,000-unit quantities.
