Moog: Slip Ring Assembly

Dec. 10, 2014
The AC7257 through-bore model provides power and signal communications for the Sinamics S120M drive system with DRIVE-CliQ via the Siemens hybrid cable.

A slip ring can be used in any electromechanical system that requires unrestrained, continuous rotation while transferring power and data from a stationary to a rotating device. Through-bore design offers flexibility in mounting or routing fluid and air lines. This unit features a fiber brush technology for no maintenance operation and long life, and can operate at speeds up to 1000 rpm continuously. It has been tested and verified compatible with the Sinamics S120M decentralized servo system, logging over 100,000 rotations with no loss of information. The ring and the brush contacts can operate in excess of 100,000,000 rotations. The unit is sealed for dust and light fluid splash, with IP65 and stainless steel housing available. Other options include a stainless steel housing, additional signal and power connections, longer lead lengths and gold plated rings. Typical applications are packaging systems, machine tools and work centers.
