Ethernet Communication Modules Offer Optional Power Over Ethernet

Aug. 15, 2017
The AcroPac AP580 Series from Acromag provides 1Gb Ethernet communication plus an option for Power Over Ethernet on a PCIe format.

The mini boards provide a single Ethernet 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps port, while an optional Power Over Ethernet (POE) model, AP580E-POE-LF, provides 52 VDC and up to 10 watts of power to powered devices. The POE Ethernet communication avoids other traffic on a network and is suitable for a video camera, VOIP phone, or any other PD devices. A down-facing plug-in 100 pin connector ensures a secure connection for I/O. The board supports Intel i210 Ethernet controller PROset to assist with diagnostics, tests, and configuration. The modules plug into AcroPack PCIe, VPX, and XMC carriers in any combination for embedded applications running on Linux, Windows, or VxWorks operating systems. These COTS units are SWaP-C optimized, ROHS compliant and appropriate for scientific development labs, military and aerospace applications, the defense industry and automation applications.
