The T1 Industrial from Harting features a single twisted pair of wires instead of four or eight and utilizes power-over-data-line technology to bring communication, voltage, and the amperage needed to power a device. This connector’s mating face is standardized according to IEC 63171-6 (formerly IEC 61076-3-125) and meets IEEE 802.3 requirements for Single Pair Ethernet, and also works across common industrial protocols including Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT.  With this connector, the number of connections on the device is reduced, eliminating the need for an external power supply, and the devices on the plant floor that traditionally communicate over Fieldbus protocols to join the same IP-based network as the other devices, enabling peer-to-peer communication, open-loop feedback of all devices, and smart functionality from the main control room to the device. The industrial design offers locking lever protection, 360° shielding, and high mating cycles.
