The S4B series heavy-duty Type 4 safety light curtain features cascading functionality to simplify installation. An auto cascade feature automatically recognizes connected curtains and the cordsets are color coded to reduce errors in installation and replacement. Zone indication LEDs on the module identify blocked areas and communicate alignment status. Additionally, there is a weak beam signal to indicate when a curtain needs cleaning. The S4B series comes in 14 and 30 mm resolution options, and its flexibility is enhanced by multiple mounting possibilities and optional mute arm kits.

The Honeywell MP918A1024/U pneumatic damper actuator is a 10 psi span damper blade with a positive positioner. With a maximum safe air pressure of 25 psi, the MP918A has an adjustable startpoint pressure range from 1.5 to 13 psi with an ambient temperature range of -20℉ to 160℉. These actuators also feature a neoprene rolling diaphragm, low-friction shaft bearing and non-overlapping spring ranges for sequencing.

As the first industrial ultrasonic sensor on the market, the USi-safety has safety approval for use according to EN ISO 13849 category 3 PL d, meaning the benefits of ultrasonic technology over optical systems can now be used for safety applications. This allows objects made of different materials to be reliably detected. In addition, the sensor is not sensitive to environmental influences such as dirt, air currents, humidity and similar factors. The sensor has a range of up to 2500 mm and a reaction time of around 91 ms. It operates in conditions from 30°C to +50°C. The sensor unit is IP69K rated and the control interface is IP65 rated.

Sick Safety Laser Scanner
The nanoScan3 is an ultra-compact safety laser scanner that combines smart safety functions with measurement data for reliable localization. With an overall height of just over three inches, it’s even small enough to fit under a pallet or a drive-under vehicle. The nanoScan3 delivers measurement data via an Ethernet-based output. This data can be used for localization and navigation purposes, eliminating the need for two different sensors. In addition, the nanoScan3 operates on a local I/O, eliminating the need for a safety controller or PLC. The local I/O allows it to operate dual OSSD outputs to maintain two different safe protective fields—one monitoring speed and the other monitoring stopping. It also enables direct static inputs to determine if the mobile robot is turning and which direction. Based on Sick’s microScan3 technology, the nanoScan3 uses patented safeHDDM scan technology. In total, the nanoScan3 has a protective field range of three meters with a scanning angle of 275 degrees.

The ET 200SP open controller from the Simatic ET200 Series (CPU 1515SP PC2) is a compact control system that combines the function of an ET 200SP controller with a PC-based platform.
