Two new Edge IO-Link masters from Hilscher help modernize machines and plants by connecting directly to Ethernet-based IT infrastructures without the need to interface with existing communication networks and their control systems. The masters come in two versions: SensorEdge is based on a central platform allows for monitoring of up to eight IO-Link sensors. It requires only a power supply and an internet connection to send data to the cloud at one-second intervals. Meanwhile, the SensorEdge Field features two container engines, optional cloud support and an open computing platform. SensorEdge devices have IP67-rated housing and Hilscher’s centralized edge management platform allows users to manage the new devices easily either locally or via the internet.
