The Siemens Simatic Robot Simulator enables the simulation of robot applications based on the Simatic Robot Library with minimal training effort. Early analyses of cycle times, singularities and reachability reduce commissioning time for defined robot tasks. The Simatic Robot Library concept shifts robot programming to the Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal) and moves programming to a Simatic S7-1500 controller. The means the robot program can be executed in Simatic S7-PLCSIM Advanced, which can be connected to the Simatic Robot Simulator for simulating robot applications. Simatic S7-PLCSIM Advanced (client) sends command telegrams and corresponding arguments to the Simatic Robot Simulator (server). The Simatic Robot Simulator then executes the function and returns command-specific response messages. No adjustments to the PLC program are necessary when using the Simatic Robot Simulator, and the program can be transferred to a physical Simatic S7 without modification.
