CTDI Updates its Intralogistics with Beckhoff Automation

Communications Test Design (CTDI), a Pennsylvania-based intralogistics company, has been focused on investing in automation in recent years.

The family-owned company provides telecommunications carriers, cable service providers and smartphone devices with logistics, engineering and repair services. Its interest in automation manifested in 2021 with the establishment of a warehouse automation team that focused on innovations in modular automation.

CTDI provides research-and-development resources for the team and appointed Kirk Whittemore as the group’s general manager. Partner publication Control Design spoke to Whittemore to discuss how the company has been embracing robotics, EtherCAT, PC-based control and more.
